Description:

WAAM is a novel technology that requires a new software infrastructure to drive the process. MX3D is developing its own robotic-WAAM software platform, MetalXL. This software needs to be capable of driving a very flexible process and therefore address and incorporate all the needs that a customer might have.

The fact that the MetalXL users operate in a wide variety of industries (everywhere metal manufacturing is involved) involves a continuous adaptation and integration of new features on the platform.

MetalXL is MX3D's WAAM control platform composed of the following products:

  • MetalXL CAM: for slicing and toolpath planning
  • MetalXL Live: for in-line monitoring and process control
  • MetalXL Viz: for offline data visualization and quality assurance

MX3D's MetalXL platform is a solid and reliable tool for efficient and defect-free manufacturing of hybrid and highly optimized load bearing components.

Latest features developed for each product within the MetalXL platform:

  • MetalXL CAM: new slicing strategies, collision avoidance for Hybrid printing
  • MetalXL Live: multi Deposition Strategy monitoring, improved control algorithms for inline monitoring
  • MetalXL Viz: hybrid manufacturing specific data visualization environment, new data analysis, correlation and measurement tools, more process data added to the pipeline.
